Web Analytics Executive 

 

BASED IN SWINDON, WILTSHIRE 

 

Reporting to the Website Experience Director 

 

Working in our Website Experience team you will work closely with our Website Experience Director and Senior Web Analytics Exec to make sure we can effectively track the outcomes of all digital activities and measure the efficiency of campaigns and websites. You will be a true ‘techie’ who loves technology, can see trends in data and probably have some coding experience. We will provide all the training you need but some experience of some of the key responsibilities would be an advantage.   

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Setting up and maintaining Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and other digital analysis tools necessary to measure digital performance for a variety of clients 
  • Liaising with developers for technical recommendations and tagging implementationimplementing third-party tags and setting up campaign tracking  
  • Reviewing and checking existing tagging/analytics setups or new tagging created by other teams  
  • Setting up reporting dashboards using Google Analytics, Excel or other tools 
  • Testing data layers created by the Senior Web Analytics Executive to ensure variables are pulling into tags and reporting dashboards as needed 
  • Developing data visualization dashboards in Google Data Studio to provide full transparency on digital performance both internally and for clients  
  • Monitoring the technical performance of client sites using enterprise level crawling tools 
  • Conducting detailed analysis and reporting on website traffic, engagement and conversion metrics 
  • Report on website performance to various stakeholders  
  • Setting up tracking requirements for CRO experiments in A/B testing tools (i.e. VWO, Adobe Target) 
  • Delivering accurate and actionable insights from data analysis, not just the data itself 
  • Supporting the SEO Manager with analytical tasks and covering SEO Executive work when required
  • Attend client calls, meetings and workshops to present and discuss ideas 
  • Communicate both internally and with the client via our project management software Teamwork 
  • Keeping up to date with latest industry trends and best practices 

     

    Skills Required 

     

    • Degree that demonstrates either strong technical or analytical skills such as computer science, maths, or engineering 
    • An affinity with new technologies. You would be interested and open to learning new platforms and learning a scripting language 
    • Ideally, but not essential, experience in an agency environment 
    • Ideally GAIQ qualified. Must get GAIQ qualified during probation 
    • Some experience of both Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 
    • Experience setting up data visualization dashboards, ideally in Google Data Studio would be an advantage
    • Ability to write simple JS functions 
    • Proficient in Excel/Google Spreadsheets. In this role, you will be analysing data using pivot tables and formulas such as VLOOKUP 
    • Strong analytical skills. Ability to draw conclusions and make actionable recommendations based on the interrogation of data. 
    • Experience using crawlers such as ScreamingFrog would be useful 
    • Comfortable learning new project management software 
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact confidently with internal staff and clients, in person and in writing 
    • The ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment 
    • A keen eye for detail and able to prioritise own work effectively, with support 
    • Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines
